Kelsey Meiste: Making Your Business Your Plan A

About Kelsey Meiste: Kelsey is the Regional Vice President of Arbonne, and is a Michigan native living in Colorado Springs, CO. Arbonne went from being her plan B to A when she lost her job in Hospitality in 2020. Since then, her business has grown tremendously.

In this episode, Jennie and Kelsey discuss:

Making a career shift
The importance of building a network
Being consistent with your mindset
The key to network marketing success

Key Takeaways:

There is nothing wrong with following your heart and intuition, as long as you create the conditions for yourself to thrive in the career that is uniquely interesting and meaningful to you.
Take advantage of the digital age by creating online groups and collaborating via Zoom meetings or Facebook Live. It’s simply a matter of knowing how to expand your network through relationships and trust.
Journaling is a great tool for helping you maintain a consistent mindset not only with the business but also with the things you do to grow as a leader.
Don’t quit. No matter how bumpy the road to success is, as long as you keep moving forward, it will lead you to something truly amazing.

“Think about who you’re going to meet that actually needs this business more than you. And as long as you keep going, it gives the opportunity for so many more people to be introduced to it that you don’t even know yet.” – Kelsey Meiste

Ashao Freesky: Avoid the Hamster Wheel Trap

About Ashao Freesky: Coaches leverage Ashao to give them the exact blueprint to streamline their business and become more productive. He is passionate about helping parent-preneurs work less and enjoy more time with their families.

Ashao is the founder of DoubleYourTimeOff.com.

In this episode, Jennie and Ashao discuss:

Escaping the hamster wheel trap
The 90-day execution planner
Dealing with bottlenecks

Key Takeaways:

Getting more done faster is not the key to achieving time freedom. The only way to get out of the hamster wheel is to focus on what’s the major priority in your business.
Having a clear vision of where you want to end up in your business, identifying what is working and what isn’t, and then working on the actions and behaviours that you need to take with your outcomes are the keys to achieving more while working less.
Bottlenecks in your business are inevitable, but reviewing your approaches and workflows to identify and resolve the root causes will help you in dealing with it and getting back to business.

“You don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to get it started, you just have to start clarifying it, and not put pressure on it” – Ashao Freesky

An author of 17 books, and no stranger to the New York Times bestseller list, Todd helps people fall in love with their life by maximizing their efficiency, compensation, earning what they’re truly worth, and living their life to the fullest.

In this episode, Jennie and Todd discuss:

Getting excited about failing
Being specific with your goals
Practice more than you play
The importance of understanding emotional connection

Key Takeaways:

Instead of being afraid of failing, get excited about it since it provides an opportunity to reflect on your mistakes and return stronger knowing how to do things correctly. It’s simply a matter of not making the same mistake twice.
Make your objectives clear. If you want to build a business, you must have a set of steps and objectives that you must adhere to.
There are no shortcuts to success. It makes no difference how many times you fail; what matters is that you practice more than you play in order to improve your performance.
People make emotional decisions in almost every aspect of their lives. Understanding emotional connections strengthens bonds and builds trust, which leads to people becoming more invested in your business.

“You help people win, you don’t have to worry about winning yourself. It’s the outcome of helping others. And when you spend enough time helping others, you never have to worry about where they’re gonna take you.” – Todd Duncan

In this episode, Jennie and Mia discuss:

Trying new things in your business
Being specific about who your ideal client is
The FORM technique
The importance of having the right people

Key Takeaways:

Try to listen to ideas that emerge from areas other than your usual routine. Make it a goal and work toward it, and you never know where it will lead you.
Identity who you’ll be selling to. Stop marketing to everyone and start selling to people who have the same story like yours and who would benefit from your product or service.
The Family, Occupation, Recreation, and Motivation (FORM) technique is one of the best approaches to build rapport and see where people at that help convince others to join your company or avail your products and services.
The people in your company will ultimately determine the success or failure of your business. It doesn’t matter if you have the same passion as the other team members; as long as you try to understand their personalities, as well as your own, team members will be able to work and engage together.

“I first started off sharing my story with other people that suffered from respiratory diseases… And because I shared from my heart, it really resonated with people.” – Mia Oddo

Lisa Friesel: Girls with Goals who Give

About Lisa Friesel: Lisa combines her years of experience in marketing & advertising, MLM success with her entrepreneurial skills and mindset of creating and scaling Girls With Goals Who Give to confidently mentor her clients. Lisa’s mission is to empower you to reach your full potential as an entrepreneur. She is an integrated strategist, digging deep into her network marketing clients’ businesses, offering out of the box thinking that pushes her clients to be seen as unique and “real” and most importantly she teaches the essence of how long-lasting business exists by nurturing the relationships around you. Her mission is to eradicate the stigma behind the direct sales industry and created a proprietary formula – The Master Connection Formula, a powerful framework which gives you the tools to stand out in your market and attract quality leads to your business.

In this episode, Jennie and Lisa discuss:

The idea of reciprocity
Bringing the right people into your business
The importance of having people that duplicate

Key Takeaways:

Giving back, whether it’s to charity, volunteering your time, or connecting people through recommendations, is one of the most important aspects of developing your business.
Identifying the right people to bring into your business will allow you to quickly build your downline, figure out how to stand out, and figure out how you can be the solution to the problem that your ideal avatar is seeking for.
In business, it is preferable to have a small number of people who duplicate themselves and do a lot rather than a large number of people who do a little. It may be a gradual process, but it results in reduced burnout because they enjoy working with you.

“Because your products and opportunities could be for everyone, there’s no reason why you can’t have an ideal avatar for yourself. When you have a network marketing business, it allows you to stand out.” – Lisa Friesel

Cheddy Matthews & Michelle Wickman: What Would I Change?

About Cheddy Matthews and Michelle Wickman: Cheddy is a leadership and business development and growth strategist and coach that helps leaders stretch and grow in order to reach their full leadership potential. As a retired U.S. Marine with over 20 years of distinguished worldwide service, he has always had a desire to help people reach their goals. Michelle Wickmann, on the other hand, is a mindfulness coach for entrepreneurs and high-performance athletes. She is a certified life coach at Wickman Wellness, LLC applying over 17 years of training, people development, and coaching towards getting her clients UNSTUCK in their lives and careers.

Cheddy and Michelle are the hosts of The Winning Inside Podcast, a podcast where they chat, share and interview individuals who share their expert advice, opinions, and lessons learned about the different ways to grow and fly with their audience.

In this episode, Jennie, Cheddy, and Michelle discuss:

The art of accepting “no”
Categorizing your “people to reach out list” in direct sales business
Closing a sale
The importance of having a coach

Key Takeaways:

Hearing “no” and experiencing losses in business is normal. It’s all part of the adventure and journey. What matters is that you show up and be the greatest version of yourself at the time, as well as being present in the situation. And a “no” is not always a final notice, sometimes it’s really a “not now”.
The three types of people to contact in business are those who will surely say “no,” those who will say “maybe,” and those who will say “yes.” Begin with the no list. If you get that many no’s in the beginning, they have less of an effect on you because you’ve had them in the beginning.
Closing a sale is more of a commitment than a close. If you have a service, a product, or anything else that will bring value to someone’s life, you owe it to them to share it with those who might benefit from it.
Business is not a destination; it is a consistent journey. Coaches will help you stay focused and helps you stay aligned.

“If you try to force things on people, the force meets forces – it kind of repels. But if you do what you did, you open the opportunity for them to see the opportunity and walk into that thing.” – Cheddy Matthews

Ari Galper: High Trust Selling

About Ari Galper: Ari is the world’s number one authority on trust-based selling, and has been featured in CEO magazine, Forbes, Inc. magazine, Sky News, and the Australian Financial Review. He has also created a unique and different sales approach based on trust and integrity called Unlock The Game.

In this episode, Jennie and Ari discuss:

Unlock the game sales approach
The three myths in sales
Building relationships with other people

Key Takeaways:

The Unlock the Game sales strategy is all about moving people’s mindsets away from the sale and toward creating deep trust with them, where they’re vulnerable and comfortable with you telling them the truth about where they stand.
The three core myths in sales include the idea that sales is a number game, the idea of the sale is lost at the end of the process, and that rejection is part of the sales process.
The people you meet in life may be the same people you’ll talk to about sales in the future. Build relationships with them and remember to leave a good impression to make them trust you.

“We have been conditioned our whole lives to attempt to move things forward. And when there’s resistance, and you try and do that, it’s over. It’s on you don’t even know it till all at the end of the chase. What’s most painful? The sales last in the beginning, not the end.” – Ari Galper

Rebecca Cramer – Social Selling

About Rebecca Cramer: Rebecca Cramer is an experienced digital marketing professional. She is a social selling master who specializes in coaching business owners to leverage their company’s own unique story in order to increase their social selling metrics and blow away their audience with a masterful use of digital marketing tools through implementing a strategy customized to their needs and goals.

In this episode, Jennie and Rebecca discuss:

How to get people to buy your products
Social selling points to growing your business
Purchasing the product or availing the services of the people you personally know
Explaining your personal whys

Key Takeaways:

The key to getting people to buy your products is having the right product. Some people may want to buy from you, but the products you offer don’t match their needs.
Social selling involves using social media to connect with your audience and do business with them. In order to grow your business through social selling, you must provide value, create a call to action, and take steps to make it happen.
It shouldn’t always be a matter of where is convenient or where is more comfortable. If we personally know someone who provides the same level of service but to whom we feel more connected since we have already established a special relationship, it is sometimes better to buy from or use their services.
Explaining the reasons why you made the decision that you did while staying authentic about everything else in your life will allow you to establish a connection with others which could lead to them buying your products or services.

“If you want to do business with people, you have to be interested in them and there has to be that human to human connections, then they’ll have to fall in love with the product and/or service” – Rebecca Cramer

Debra Baez – Struggle is the Opportunity for Growth

About Debra Baez: She is passionate about health and healing of the body, mind and spirit. Her purpose is to guide others in passing down healthier and healed cycles as legacies. She is a servant leader, Latinx/ Chicana, daughter of a Mexican immigrant elder mother and a deceased Chicano father. She is a bilingual, biliterate mom of 2 and former formal educator in the school system and currently an educator in wellness, and certified healer. In this episode, Jennie and Debra discuss:

Finding purpose in times of struggle
Creating overall well-being
Networking done right
Being grateful for where you are Key Takeaways:
It’s important for you to find purpose, especially in times of struggle. Learn from other people, but also learn more about yourself – dive deep within and figure out your “why”.
Health is all about creating wellness in your being as a whole. You can have a healthier gut, but if the mind and spirit are not healed, we will not be happy since we are not fully healed.
When networking is done right, your connection and relationship with people becomes about giving value and receiving it instead of taking and taking. Recognize your clients or people who’ve helped you, show your gratitude.
Know where you want to go and be grateful for how you got to where you are. Celebrate your current victories as you strive to be successful in however you define the word.

“It’s not just about reading and learning all the time, it’s about doing the inner work. I firmly believe that the inner work is where we uncover and remember who we are and what our purpose is. Everything we bring with us is a piece of that story.” —  Debra Baez Connect with Debra Baez:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/debrabaezarbonne Instagram: @healthylatinxmamaCONNECT WITH JENNIE:Twitter: https://twitter.com/jenniebplFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/badassdirectsalesmastery/app/307339332686535/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/badassdirectsalesmastery/Website: https://badassdirectsalesmastery.com/
