Frank Agin: Foundational Networking

About Frank Agin: Frank Agin is president of AmSpirit Business Connections, which empowers entrepreneurs, sales representatives, and professionals to become successful through networking.

He also hosts the weekly Networking Rx podcast, which provides insights and advice for becoming more successful through networking as well as hosts the daily micro podcast Networking Rx Minute, which provides short messages of inspiration and recommended action.

Finally, Frank has written numerous articles on professional networking and is the author of several books, including Foundational Networking: Building Know, Like, and Trust to Create a Lifetime of Extraordinary Success.

In this episode, Jennie and Frank discuss:

How to choose a networking group
Tips for new networkers
The power of volunteering
The key to successful networking is giving.

Key Takeaways:

Whether you do BNI or not, just find a networking group that works for you. Talk to the people there in the group and get a sense that they’re getting to know you, and you should do the same.
Find ways to add value to other people, and don’t have these preconceived notions about who people are and what they’re going to do.
Find what you’re passionate about to get out into your community and volunteer – you’ll meet people who care about the same thing as you do, and they’ll learn about you.
The key to successful networking is that giving mentality. What you do, and what you get out of this world is tied to what you give, and a lot of great things come from just helping other people.

“The most valuable, least expensive thing we have to give in our network is our network itself to start making introductions of people.” – Frank Agin

Allison Hatcher: Meet Them Where They Are

About Allison Hatcher: Allison is at the level of Lapis Executive with Nuskin. The great benefit of being in direct sales in MLM has been that Nuskin brought her to personal development, and she has a passion for both businesses. She’s a survivor of domestic violence, and this MLM helped her start her new life.

In this episode, Jennie and Allison discuss:

The 80/20 rule in MLM
How to effectively recruit someone
Meeting people where they are
The secret to direct sales success

Key Takeaways:

You should use 80% of your feed for your lifestyle and 20% for your business – don’t overdo it, people hate seeing your products all over their feeds. Just keep showing up, keep focusing on the process, and divorce the results.
Throughout the process of leveling up, remember you can’t walk the business for the new recruit more than they want it for themselves. Start focusing on those who are showing up and taking action.
People will respond better if you meet them where they are and don’t bombard them with the next steps to take.
Knowledge is needed to overcome waiting. When a customer tells you no, you need to know what the reason for their no is. A no is not a no forever, it is just a no for right now. You have to be consistent, know your market and your product, and you have to show up, because nobody else will for you.

“Flip the script to however it suits your needs, or if you saw a post that they like, connect, connect, connect. Because if you don’t connect on a personal level, and build rapport, build a relationship, as soon as you try to connect on a business level and share your product, they are going to disconnect.” – Allison Hatcher

Tom “Big Al” Schreiter: Fast Decisions in Your Favor

About Tom Schreiter: Tom “Big Al” Schreiter has 46+ years of experience in network marketing and MLM. As the author of the original “Big Al” training books in the late 1970s, he has continued to speak in over 90 countries on using the exact words and phrases to get prospects to open up their mind and say “YES”.

In this episode, Jennie and Tom discuss:

What attracted Tom to start learning about neuroscience
How people make decisions

Key Takeaways:

The only thing between us and where we want to be is a bunch of stuff we don’t know yet, all we have to do is start learning what we don’t know and don’t fight it so much.
The decisions that people make are based on preexisting programs inside their minds before they even hear a word – they don’t like it, they hate it, they will resist it, they will fight against it, and they will attempt to find examples to prove their point of view is better.

“As humans, we have cognitive dissidence, and what it means is we don’t like to change our minds. We don’t like to change our minds because we don’t like to say I want to change how I believe about things.” – Tom Schreiter

How did Amanda fall in love with sales
How do you turn people into team members
The importance of having your own training
The last six letters of law of attraction

Key Takeaways:

Having a well-developed skill set and understanding what you are doing is key to duplicate at any point and keep making money. Seeking out training is essential.
Pick up the phone. Because people are not accustomed to getting phone calls anymore, the pickup rates are higher.
Lead by example instead of sending your team to company trainings. Training all aspects of your company’s team does not have to be done by you. You can bring in an expert or a third party to help you.
No amount of visualization and techniques is going to make up for a lack of skill set. What’s the last six letters of the law of attraction? ACTION. In order to manifest right, you have to think, believe, and act.

“You still have to put in the reps, that’s how you get good. You’re gonna suck before you’re good.” – Amanda Abella

Jeremy Miner: Getting People to Drop Their Guard

About Jeremy Miner: Jeremy Miner is the Chairman of 7th Level, a Global Sales Training company that was ranked #1,232 of the fastest-growing companies in the United States by INC magazine’s list of the top 5000 companies in 2021. He is also a contributor to INC magazine and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Entrepreneur magazine, and a host of other publications.

“The single most effective way to sell anything to anyone in 2022, is to be a problem finder and a problem solver… NOT a product pusher.” For Jeremy Miner, the embodiment of this philosophy has made him one of the wealthiest sales professionals on the planet.

During his 17-year sales career, Jeremy was recognized by the Direct Selling Association as the 45th highest-earning producer, out of more than 100 million salespeople – selling anything, worldwide! His earnings as a commission-only salesperson were in the multiple 7-figures, EVERY year.

Jeremy’s unique brand of sales training pioneers the use of behavioral science and human psychology, reflective of his deep studies in the subject from Utah Valley University.

Jeremy is the host of the podcast, Closers are Losers and is the author of a new book, The New Model of Selling Selling to an Unsellable Generation co-authored by Jerry Acuff – CEO of Delta Point.

In this episode, Jennie and Jeremy discuss:

Learn the right skills.
How to disarm your prospect
Triggering curiosity

Key Takeaways:

You will fail if you don’t learn the right skills. Be committed to learning more advanced skills to succeed in your career.
When it comes to direct sales, you have to learn how to put the sales expectation aside and focus on whether you’re helping them. Come across as more neutral and detached.
Identify two or three generic problems that any person would be familiar with, then explain what you can do to help them, that immediately piques their interest. Constantly keeping prospects’ guards down is key to success in selling.

“I think one of the biggest things that people come into direct selling is they just get really hyped up. But the problem is that it wears off very quickly when you don’t know what to say and ask that causes the prospect to want to open up and engage.” – Jeremy Miner

Bethany George: The Follow Up Boss

About Bethany George: Bethany is the Founder and CEO of The Follow Up Boss. From a young age, she has always been an entrepreneur. And as an adult struggling to understand the secrets to sales success, she realised that underlying all success is a solid network of interpersonal relationships. She has since expanded on that idea to unlock the secrets to accelerating business growth, business growth, creating powerful partnerships, and simplifying the sales process.

In this episode, Jennie and Bethany discuss:

The power of personal interactions
Follow-up is key.
The sales stages

Key Takeaways:

Relationships and trust do not just happen overnight. It takes multiple touches, genuine interactions, and engaging people on a journey.
People don’t follow up for three reasons: they’re scared of rejection, they don’t know what to say, and they forget. Make use of tools such as contact mapping – success lies in following up.
It is essential to get a clear understanding of the stages your future customers go through before they make a purchase. They begin skeptically curious, become interested, and then become committed buyers.

“If you’re creating curiosity with intention, at some point they’re going to ask you what you do and they’re going to find out more about it. ” – Bethany George

Alex Aanderud: Why You Need DISC in Your Life

About Alex Aanderud: Alex Aanderud, an industry leader in DISC, human behavior, and integrative psychology combines his degree in aerospace engineering with his advanced certifications in Integrative psychology to apply systems and analytics to the human capital of organizations. He utilizes various psychometric assessments to improve team dynamics, retention, integrative leadership, and profitability. Alex has been brought in by the top coaching companies and teams to train their people on a new and innovative perspective of DISC and recruiting that has led to massive growth, retention, and expansion.

In this episode, Jennie and Alex discuss:

Learning to read people and building rapport
Getting your clients to make the right decision
Why is DISC important?

Key Takeaways:

By trying to read people based on their DISC profiles, you will be able to have a better conversation with them, reach a deeper level of understanding, and build a better, faster rapport.
Having your clients feel safe and protected will help them make informed decisions. Acknowledge their reality, help them feel safe by seeing where they are, and make them feel accepted so they can feel protected.
The ability to understand DISC is such a valuable skill because you can help people understand where they fall within all four categories, how to capitalize on their strengths, what their weaknesses are and how to mitigate them, and how to use their strengths so that they can better sell their people and recruit them.

“It’s really about if you can see the other person and let them know “I see you and I’m going to show up the way you need me to”, they’ll trust you more and they’re willing to work with you more. ” – Alex Aanderud
