Carey Rippe: Importance of Alignment

About Carey Rippe: Carey is a busy work from home mom. She is a wellness professional, entrepreneur, and her daughter, Olivia, is in high school. She also has three fur babies and she’s loving her life with her partner Robert. She’s been in direct sales and network marketing since February of 2012, but she has recently made the switch in careers to a health and wellness field in January 2019. She loves her career, company, and community immensely and looks forward to many years of helping others eliminate their physical and financial pain.

In this episode, Jennie and Carey discuss:

  • When transition is needed
  • Seeking alignment in your career
  • Growth through transition
  • Knowing if you’re aligned

Key Takeaways:

  • Not giving up is a strong characteristic that a lot of successful people have, but being able to recognize when you’re being stagnant and being willing and humble enough to transition is just as necessary
  • Examine if there is any misalignment between you and anything in your company. Feel the alignment in your core, you’ll know if it’s there or not.
  • Transition isn’t bad. There’s nothing wrong with transitioning to a different company – it could very well be the path you need to take for you to grow.
  • It doesn’t feel hard when you’re align. It could be tiring, difficult, or even not that exciting, but if you’re aligned to what you do it doesn’t feel emotionally hard to make yourself do it.

“Maybe you’re 100% committed that day to do reach outs or followups and customer care but the next day it’s being 100% committed to your family, or being 100% committed to your personal development or 100% committed to what you said you would do for your community… Be a 100% committed whatever that looks like for you in any given day.” —  Carey Rippe

Network Marketing is Predatory

In this episode, Jennie discusses:

  • Who is network marketing for?
  • Network marketing is a roller coaster ride
  • Is network marketing worth it?
  • Predators in network marketing, recognizing red flags

Key Takeaways:

  • Being successful in this business requires that you’re willing to learn and to fail over and over again until you succeed.
  • Network marketing is not for everyone. It’s difficult, like any entrepreneurial ventures, but the struggles are worth it.
  • Network marketing, the business model, is not predatory. Companies are not likely to be predatory. It’s only the people who can be predatory. Every industry has its share of bad apples.
  • Don’t be a part of the problem. Learn to have a good onboarding process and sponsor your team. Take care of the people that you sign.

“This business model is not for the weak. It will test your will, desire, and tenacity over and over again… and it’s absolutely worth it.” —  Jennie Bellinger

Jordan Adler – From $36K in Debt to Beach Money

About Jordan Adler: Jordan was involved in 10 network marketing companies in his first 11 years in the business and never signed up a single distributor. At the age of 34 years old, he had less than $200 in the bank. He had $36,000 in credit card debt on 22 credit cards. He was living in a garage in Tempe, AZ and his rent was $200 a month. His jeep had been broken down for 2 years and he was taking a bus to work. His job paid him $14,000 a year after the airline he worked for had just filed bankruptcy. 36 months later, Jordan became a top earner in his company of 2 1/2 million distributors and went on to make $20 million in network marketing.

Jordan has built businesses consisting of over 200,000 distributors and nearly 500,000 customers in countries all over the globe. He’s a builder, speaker, leader, trainer and motivator. His audiences are mesmerized by his stories that inspire belief and action. Jordan sees himself as a dream broker. He lives his personal dreams on a large scale and then inspires others to go for theirs.

In this episode, Jennie and Jordan discuss:

  • Giving everything to prepare for the opportunity
  • Deciding based on feelings vs. being all-in on your business
  • Mastering the basics and simplifying concepts for success
  • Building a business by collecting friends

Key Takeaways:

  • When preparation and opportunity come together that’s when things take off.
  • Don’t be swayed back and forth by your feelings, commit to something and stand firm on it.
  • Think about three simple things that your people can do everyday to get success. Simplify the process to make success more attainable.
  • Collect friends, forge and maintain long-term connections with people. They might not be ready for your business right now, but they could be in the future.

“The truth is none of us as human beings are excited about what we’re doing all the time… as soon as I would start to doubt a little bit I was out… when I joined my 12th company, I made a conscious decision that I was going to make a decision based on commitment not on what I was feeling.” —  Jordan Adler

Dean Newlund – It’s Time to Dream Again

About Dean Newlund: In the early 1990s Dean Newlund was a multi-level marketing state director for Minnesota and Washington. To support his business he got a certification in coaching which later led to him opening a coaching practice exclusively serving direct-sales and MLM small businesses. That business grew and now Mission Facilitators International is fortunate to work with thousands of business leaders and dozens of companies nationally and internationally. As CEO, Dean leads a team that provides coaching, leadership, team development and strategic planning services for leaders and their teams. Dean is also a TedX speaker and has a popular podcast called The Business Of Intuition.

In this episode, Jennie and Dean discuss:

  • Using intuition to guide your business decisions
  • Why you should listen to your intuition
  • Dreaming despite of fear
  • The difference between being intuitive and being foolhardy

Key Takeaways:

  • Sometimes the facts are not enough to make the right call – listen to your intuition
  • Everyone has the ability to hear their intuition, but it takes some practice to listen to it and trust it.
  • Becoming more intuitive means being able to see the bigger picture and taking the necessary risks that makes sense for that big dream
  • Sometimes the way you get passed negativite times in your life isn’t by bulldozing yourself through with positivity but by addressing it, embracing it and seeing what can be learned from it.

“We have to adjust but let’s keep dreaming. Let’s get back to thinking big picture… let’s not hold ourselves in, because that’s where life is.” —  Dean Newlund

Sales is Not a Four Letter Word Part One

In this episode, Jennie discusses:

  • Your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs around sales are shaped by all the sales experiences you’ve ever had
  • Our brain has evolved to protect us from bad things, including bad sales experiences
  • Negative experiences negative words, negative situations have four times more impact on your brain than a positive one
  • It’s not about you. If you focus on you, you’ll lose the sale

Key Takeaways:

  • Reframe how you think about sales as a transfer of a solution to a problem
  • Don’t focus on your product/service, figure out how you can solve your customer’s problem…Hopefully with your product or service
  • Respect your customers’ boundaries. If they don’t see the value of your solution at the time, be respectful of that decision.

“So the first thing is, have the goal of getting to know this other human. What do they want? What are their needs? What problems are they concerned with solving right now? Secondly, go into each of those conversations with the other person’s best interests at heart and respect their boundaries.” —  Jennie Bellinger

Odille Remmert – From Struggle to Superpower

About Odille Remmert: She is an international mindset coach, speaker, author and co-founder of the Remmert Method. Having changed her own life from a lifetime of physical, emotional and financial struggle to married to the love of her life, doing what she loves for a living and now owning the rental property she used to clean, Odille’s passion is helping others to step into their own authentic power by changing the root of limiting sub-conscious beliefs using the latest in neuroscience in the same way that she did.

In this episode, Jennie and Odille Remmert discuss:

  • Struggling to work hard while not getting anywhere and how being stuck is often rooted in childhood.
  • Dealing with the root of the problem
  • Neuroscienced-backed way of rewiring your memories and subconscious
  • Applying these concepts to give yourself a boost in your direct-sales business

Key Takeaways:

  • Ask yourself these three questions: 1.) how do you know it’s a problem? 2.) how does that feel? 3.)Where in my childhood did I feel that feeling
  • What we tend to do, because that’s what we see, is that we cut the leaves, and the branches of the weed. But to be able to be truly transformed, you will have to uproot that weed and plant something good.
  • Change a part of the memory to remove the stress that is associated in it – change the vibe of that particular memory into something pleasant and you’ll be surprised with how much that affects your life.
  • Personal development will contribute greatly to your business’ development.

“Somebody can say something mean, one person can be hurt, another can be angry but another person may find it funny and what makes that difference is the subconscious references from their childhood experiences..” —  Odille Remmert

The Answer is Always “No”

In this episode, Jennie discusses:

  • Why you shouldn’t stop yourself from asking
  • A concrete example of the principle of asking
  • What would happen if you become too afraid to ask
  • What to do before asking others

Key Takeaways:

  • Ask if you want a possible yes. Don’t ask if you want to have a guaranteed no.
  • Don’t give up on something that’s “improbable” – improbable implies that there is a chance that it will have a positive outcome.
  • Your life will never go anywhere unless you take the courage to ask
  • Practicing asking others by first asking yourself how others can benefit from you

“Ask, ask, ask. Don’t be afraid to ask. The worst thing that could happen is if they say no but they might say yes. But if you don’t ask, the answer is always no. .” —  Jennie Bellinger
