Alex Aanderud: Why You Need DISC in Your Life

About Alex Aanderud: Alex Aanderud, an industry leader in DISC, human behavior, and integrative psychology combines his degree in aerospace engineering with his advanced certifications in Integrative psychology to apply systems and analytics to the human capital of organizations. He utilizes various psychometric assessments to improve team dynamics, retention, integrative leadership, and profitability. Alex has been brought in by the top coaching companies and teams to train their people on a new and innovative perspective of DISC and recruiting that has led to massive growth, retention, and expansion.

In this episode, Jennie and Alex discuss:

  • Learning to read people and building rapport
  • Getting your clients to make the right decision
  • Why is DISC important?

Key Takeaways:

  • By trying to read people based on their DISC profiles, you will be able to have a better conversation with them, reach a deeper level of understanding, and build a better, faster rapport.
  • Having your clients feel safe and protected will help them make informed decisions. Acknowledge their reality, help them feel safe by seeing where they are, and make them feel accepted so they can feel protected.
  • The ability to understand DISC is such a valuable skill because you can help people understand where they fall within all four categories, how to capitalize on their strengths, what their weaknesses are and how to mitigate them, and how to use their strengths so that they can better sell their people and recruit them.

“It’s really about if you can see the other person and let them know “I see you and I’m going to show up the way you need me to”, they’ll trust you more and they’re willing to work with you more. ” – Alex Aanderud

Tara Wagner: Amp Your Biz Without Burnout

About Tara Wagner: Tara Wagner is a Breakthrough coach for small business owners struggling with burnout. She helps you create full-time profits with a part-time schedule; not with some new marketing strategy, but with a whole new approach to how you operate.

In this episode, Jennie and Tara discuss:

  • The honeymoon phase of burnout
  • Making decisions on a bad day
  • The best ways to avoid burnout
  • Zooming out and planning out your goals

Key Takeaways:

  • The honeymoon phase is one filled with positivity and optimism, but it has zero boundaries and is addicting, which leads to unhealthy habits and unhealthy decisions that will eventually burn you out.
  • It’s never a good idea to make big decisions on a bad day, especially if it’s about quitting.
  • The first step towards preventing burnout is to know your values and long-term goals, keep on track toward those goals and then take good care of your physical health.
  • If you can zoom out, see the bigger picture, and plan more strategically instead of going off your emotions, then you can amp your business up for this without getting burned out.

“As business owners, you’re gonna have your employee hat on sometimes, sit down, and do the work you need to do. But you gotta have more time with that CEO hat on so that you make sure you’re doing the right things.” – Tara Wagner

Clive Cusens: Your Mini Franchise

About Clive Cusens: Innovators Club team leader and community manager Clive Cusens joined the club back in 2019 to gain knowledge on how to make money online so that he could fulfill his dream of becoming a digital nomad.

Whilst working on improving his trading skills, he decided to use the available networking marketing business opportunity to build his residual income on the side. He now manages a team of over 160 people in 26 countries and travels the world together with his girlfriend, who is also involved in the business.

His goal for 2023 is to inspire 500 people to learn the skills that he’s learned and to help them to make that leap into creating multiple income streams for themselves.

In this episode, Jennie and Clive discuss:

  • The most significant growth Clive has experienced through the Innovators Club
  • The benefit of direct sales and marketing
  • The key component of investing your money
  • Network marketing as a mini-franchise

Key Takeaways:

  • The more passionate you are about learning the ropes of network marketing, putting the education into practice, and giving it your all, you’ll definitely succeed and the more you might want to recommend it to others.
  • Having a community of people around you who are supportive is a huge benefit of direct sales and network marketing. Once you bring some people in yourself, you know you’re not alone.
  • Invest time in educating yourself and understanding anything before you make a financial investment.
  • Network marketing is the micro version of franchising – it has unlimited growth potential because anyone can sell their mini-franchise to anyone else.

“My plan for growth is to inspire others in the network marketing business. Once you’ve reached a certain level, you shift your focus from looking for clients to building leaders.” – Clive Cusens

Bob Burg: Using Go-Giver in Direct Sales

About Bob Burg: Bob Burg is an author and speaker who has helped companies, sales leaders, and their teams to more effectively communicate their value, sell at higher prices with less resistance, and grow their businesses based on Endless Referrals.

His book The Go-Giver which he coauthored with John David Mann, a Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek Bestseller, has sold over a million copies and has been translated into 30 languages.

Bob is the author of a number of books on sales, marketing, and influence, and has been named one of the 30 Most Influential Leaders and one of the Top 200 Most Influential Authors in the World.

He is an advocate, supporter, and defender of the Free Enterprise system, believing that the amount of money one makes is directly proportional to how many people one serves.

He is also an unapologetic animal fanatic and served on the Board of Directors of Furry Friends Adoption and Clinic in his town of Jupiter, Florida.

In this episode, Jennie and Bob discuss:

  • Bob’s golden rule of networking
  • What being a go-giver actually means
  • Being a giver has nothing to do with being a doormat

Key Takeaways:

  • All things being equal, people will do business with and refer business to those people they know, like, and trust.
  • Being a go-giver is about shifting your focus from getting to giving by constantly and consistently providing immense value to others.  By focusing less on what you’re going to get from the sales process, you create a phenomenal, value-based experience that’s worth 10 times 100 times more than any money you may exchange.
  • Being a go-giver doesn’t mean you’re everyone’s doormat. Your influence comes from the extent to which you put other people’s interests above your own.
  • The only way you can earn a whole lot of money is by serving a whole lot of people with exceptional value.

“Giving attracts. When you do it genuinely and authentically, you have their best interests at heart that inspires trust.” – Bob Burg

She is proudly serving on the Sr. Board of Directors for my 2nd year in a row. Dana started this business as a side gig and never thought she’d do it full-time. Pure Romance is now her full-time career and she gets the luxury of making her own schedule.

Dana has 2 young girls, a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old, and is married to a handsome Canadian man with a great beard! What started as something fun to bring in a little extra money has turned into a passion to empower women about their bodies and help them feel comfortable and confident in and out of the bedroom! She’s obsessed with footy pajamas and fanny packs!

In this episode, Jennie and Dana discuss:

  • The value of getting a “no”
  • How Tiktok has helped Dana’s business
  • How to come up with content ideas

Key Takeaways:

  • Don’t be worried about failing. The more “nos” you get, the closer you are to your next “yes”.
  • There’s also beauty in joining the bandwagon. Aside from reaching many people, platforms like Tiktok allow you to have fun making short videos and educating people all at the same time.
  • Plan some content with a group of people within your business, look for trending sounds and save a couple and see how you can relate them to your business.

“Done is better than perfect. Just do it – just be a person connecting with other people, making relationships, genuinely adding value, educating and trying to help serve them.” – Dana McWilliam

Megan Robinson: Great Leadership Starts with Self Leadership

About Megan Robinson: Megan is the principal at E Leader Experience and works with individuals and teams to develop self-leadership skills that grow companies. She started her career in marketing climbing her way through the corporate ladder at advertising agencies and fortune 500 companies. Like many of us, she caught the entrepreneur bug and started her own marketing company. After yet another “Business Therapy” session, Megan discovered her true passion was in coaching and is a John Maxwell certified coach and DiSC Trainer. In addition, she is the Past President of ATDChi the leading learning and development organization in Chicagoland. Inspired by her own successful career in corporate and entrepreneurial environments, Megan makes leadership approachable for everyone, regardless of title, position, or experience.

In this episode, Jennie and Megan discuss:

  • Leadership is influence.
  • How can you build your influence?
  • Setting boundaries

Key Takeaways:

  • A leader without a follower is just a guy out for a walk – you have to take the lead and see who’s willing to follow you and if those around you are willing to do the same.
  • Great leadership starts with self-leadership. Have a clear vision and be intentional with your actions because you can’t lead yourself if you don’t know where you’re going.
  • Setting boundaries is about letting someone know what you need in a clear, direct way. It’s not about controlling, it’s holding them accountable.

“Servant leadership is often how people show up with their clients – like you have to serve the client, you give up your own hours, and you let your boundaries get crossed. That’s what went wrong with your leadership.” – Megan Robinson
